My Projects
These are some of the largest projects that I had worked on at my time at CU Boulder.
CAPSTONE
For my capstone project, the team that I was apart of created a finalized prototype for a mobile app of the CU Boulder Student Portal known as Buff Portal. To create this we followed the entire User-Centered Design process from researching possible users, to creating multiple different fidelity prototypes and conducting user testing with those prototypes. Applied Machine Learning
During my time in this class, we used SciKit Learn and TensorFlow to learn how many different machine learning algorithms worked and how we could build our own models using those algorithms. For the final project, I used a TensorFlow Convolutional Neural Network and a SciKit Learn KNN algorithm to build a model that could recognize traffic lights with a 100% accuracy on recognizing red lights.
User-Centered Design Seminar
Analyzing Designs to identify design techniques such as nudges, motivation, flawed designs, and reinforcement techniques. Looking at how designers use flow, attention, and self-determination theory. We also used these design techniques to come up with designs for different scenarios based on these techniques. One example is motivating students to attend class in college
Music Information Discord Bot
For my Music as Information class, using python and SQL, I made a discord bot using multiple API's, large data sets, and scraping some web data, to build a discord bot that would provide users with a lot of information about artists, albums, and songs. The bot can get sentiment for individual tracks and full albums, create popularity charts for artists, get top charts from billboard and a lot more. The bot can be added to any discord server with the button below, however, it is not currently always online.
Medium Articles
I use different Python modules, such as Pandas, GeoPandas, Seaborn, MatPlotLib, Altair, and more. Using my Python data analysis, I made op-eds to convince people of different things I was arguing about based on the data that I used. I did analyses on The Colorado Rockies, Boulder County Wildfires, correlations in county-level data, Wikipedia Data, and U.S. House Expenditure data. I have posts about design processes for creating effective visualizations for displaying data as well as what the story I am trying to tell is with the visualizations.
